Facilitation for teams, groups and creative organisations
I design and facilitate thoughtful spaces for reflection, collaboration and development.
My work brings together coaching, creativity and facilitation to help people think more clearly, communicate more openly and work together with greater confidence, curiosity and purpose.
From leadership development and Action Learning Sets to group coaching and creative development programmes, each approach is shaped around the people involved and what they need to move forward.
Toolbox
TOOLBOX is a holistic residency programme for producers working in unconventional spaces, taking place annually at 101 National Creation Centre for Public Arts.
I designed and lead the programme in collaboration with the team at 101.
Now in its seventh year, almost 100 people have taken part in TOOLBOX.
The programme nurtures both the person and the professional, creating space to explore new ways of working creatively while building a sustainable career, avoiding burnout and becoming part of a supportive community.
I’m immensely proud of what TOOLBOX has grown into. There is now a network of “Toolboxers” meeting at industry events, supporting one another and continuing the culture of generosity and kindness that we set out to create from the beginning.
“Meeting Bettina and being part of Toolbox has been life-changing.”
“It’s been a delight to work with Bettina on developing and delivering our Toolbox leadership development event for outdoor arts producers. Her patience, insight and acumen were exactly what was needed to shape this innovative event and to subsequently reimagine it as an online event. Universally, participants felt refreshed and inspired by Bettina’s facilitation and coaching, which was indispensable to creating the supportive and stretching environment we wanted to create.”
Action Learning Sets
An Action Learning Set is a powerful way to problem-solve, reflect and learn from one another in a supportive group setting.
The group meets regularly and, through a guided process, creates the conditions for deeper insight and understanding.
During each session, one or two people bring a current challenge to the group. Through thoughtful questioning and reflection, they gain new perspectives while also having their experience acknowledged.
There’s a saying that “a problem shared is a problem halved”. An Action Learning Set takes that idea further, helping a group turn something that may feel overwhelming into something clearer and more manageable.
All conversations are confidential, with agreed ground rules established from the first session.
As an experienced Action Learning Set facilitator, I bring coaching methods into the process to create a culture of curiosity, reflection and, importantly, some enjoyment too.
Action Learning Sets can be particularly valuable for leadership development, wellbeing, confidence and creating better conversations within teams and organisations.
“I’ve really enjoyed the sets and found them a fantastic focus for the whole self.”
Team development
Every organisation relies on the individuals within it.
The values, motivations and ideas held by those people influence how a team communicates, how decisions are made and ultimately what success looks like.
Day-to-day busyness often leaves little time to stop, reflect and identify what is working well or where patterns may be getting in the way.
Creating that space can help teams reconnect with their purpose, understand one another more clearly and develop healthier, more effective ways of working together.
Whether your team consists of two people or twenty, the work can be shaped around what you need. Sessions can involve whole-team facilitation, smaller group work or individual coaching for team members.
“Bettina’s approach is refreshing, flexible and dynamic. Through preparatory exercises and gently probing follow-up questions, she helped us access new ways to overcome old blocks to progress. Highly recommended.”
Flexible packages are available depending on the needs and size of your team.

Each Other’s Company
Each Other’s Company is a small online coaching group offering personalised and communal support, with regular check-ins to help you stay on track and develop healthier habits around wellbeing and confidence.
It is particularly suited to freelancers and solo entrepreneurs who would benefit from having a dedicated space for reflection, connection and accountability.
The group combines practical prompts, inspiration and coaching support to help build habits for more wholehearted living.
During monthly sessions, each member brings their current theme or challenge and has the opportunity for a coaching spotlight, while also benefiting from the experiences and perspectives of the wider group.
Areas I’m particularly interested in exploring include confidence, self-awareness, communication, the inner critic, and personal and professional wellbeing.

Other arts projects
My background in the cultural sector continues to inform the way I work today, and I remain involved in selected arts projects alongside my coaching and facilitation work.
caravan assembly
A biennial international showcase for new English performance.
I have been Production Coordinator for this event, hosted by Farnham Maltings and Brighton Festival, since 2008.
It’s always a joy to bring artists and programmers together over three days in Brighton, creating a wider community of exchange, connection and solidarity.
ArtsAgenda
I founded ArtsAgenda to create a better working environment for independent creative producers.
With start-up support from Arts Council England, the company developed a strong reputation for site-specific and outdoor arts, working on projects of all scales and with international reach.
Over almost 20 years, ArtsAgenda brought together a brilliant team of independent producers and contributed to world-touring productions, large-scale projects, festivals and cultural programmes, including Derby Festé and projects within the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
After nearly 20 busy years, ArtsAgenda closed its doors to open a few new ones.
Retreats & workshops
I also run occasional retreats, workshops and development programmes designed to create space for reflection, creativity and meaningful growth.
Details of upcoming opportunities will be added here as they are confirmed.
